Victoria

Owner and founder of the workshop, Victoria set up the workshop in the heart of the jewellery Quarter Birmingham wanting to create a beautiful space for couples to come and create their wedding rings in an authentic silversmithing and goldsmithing studio.

The studio is full of her own precious tools acquired over the years and some inherited from her grandfather.

She has had a passion for making from an early age which led her to undertake a degree in designed metal work and silversmithing followed by 5 years working as a jeweller and silversmith making work to commission and also working for well known established designer makers building up a wealth of technical knowledge before undertaking a Masters in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery at the Royal College of Art in London.

Her career has also involved teaching at various colleges, for museums and galleries.

She now lives with her husband in Birmingham and yes they made each others wedding rings at the Quarterworkshop!

Her wedding was featured on "Love my Dress" and you can see it here:

I cannot recommend Victoria and her workshops enough. My partner and I did a make your own wedding rings day, and it was one of the most romantic things we have ever done. Thank you Victoria for creating the beautiful space in which such special memories were made. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I am telling everyone I know to do! Thank you Victoria! X

Dovilė

My name is Dovile, Originally from Lithuanian I am a jewellery artist specialising in sculptural jewellery. I often exhibit my work at various contemporary crafts and arts shows both across the UK and abroad. Currently, I am also an artist in residence at BCU School of Jewellery.

I love being a jeweller based in the famous Jewellery Quarter, where everything is historically related to jewellery making.

While not in the workshop I am an admirer of the wilderness so it’s essential to me to go outdoors . I love walking in deep forests, hiking in the mountains or staring to running water.

My other passion is to spend hours experimenting in the kitchen. I really like cooking and baking, also following many shows on food and culture shows on Netflix.

Tilly

Having moved away from Shropshire to Birmingham in 2010 I have built a life here, found a passion in making jewellery and completed my second degree (the first was in illustration in Bath) at the Birmingham School of Jewellery on Vittoria Street in 2018. I live with my partner in a little house in Stirchley along with two cats, Roscoe and Billy, and I love spending time in our renovated garden. Birmingham is great for eating out which I love, there are plenty of independent restaurants, bars and cafés to choose from and some great independent shops too. Otto JQ is great for pizza and Negroni’s, Cork and Cage Stirchley is a great little spot for after work drinks and they do Bloody Mary’s on a Sunday! The jewellery I make is ever evolving but very often led by the making process and materials. I thrive on finding new inspirations that have been very diverse- many things from witchcraft to language to the notion of searching, for instance. I tend to research an idea then produce a collection based on the seed of the idea and I sell my pieces through my online shop.

I would like to share with you the wonderful time I had at the stacking ring workshop on Saturday. Tilly, our teacher, was inspiring, encouraging and patient making it a positive experience for all. It was great to be part of a group who were all so mindful in their own creativity

Roxy

I have been living in Birmingham for eight years; I came here to study at Birmingham School of Jewellery. I went on to set up my own jewellery business and have my workshop in heart of the Historical Jewellery Quarter. The jewellery I design and make is authentic to my Persian heritage. Having grown up in a western culture but having deep Persian roots, I connect the two worlds and create exotic and contemporary designs.

Outside of work I love nothing more than getting stuck into a good book and am a yoga lover. At home I spend time with my cat Mo and the new addition to the family Rudi our Labradoodle. I spend my time on long walks in Birmingham’s beautiful parks and love indulging in homemade food, especially Persian food.
